Building an online community of people is a lot like old-school organizing with a couple of twists. We will talk about some principles that work well and some that don't. We'll discuss the barrier-to-entry problem, the preaching-to-the-choir problem, and organize-people-where-they-are principle. We'll talk about some strategies to get volunteers, and more importantly, how to keep them.
